Day 1

Spent the day cleaning out one of my closets. 

The idea was to donate as much as possible so I could begin the new year afresh - with little more than a few simple, basic, wardrobe pieces to keep life less complicated (i.e. to limit the amount of time spent standing at the abyss that threatens to swallow me whole each morning before heading off to work). 

And it sounded good on paper. (yes, I'm a list-maker.)

However, it didn't quite go as I planned.  I did a lot of moving of piles - which made me think I was doing something beneficial, when in all actuality I was only moving piles.  So, if you only look in the room that originally had the largest pile - you'll see that I did indeed clean up that mess.  However, if you look in the other room you'll see that the first mess is now in the second room visiting the other mess - which means I now have one big combined new mess in the second room.  Are you following me??

But, just to keep things straight - I did clean up a mess.
